Foodie Travel: One Market Restaurant, San Francisco CA

One of my favorite places to go when I am in San Francisco is One Market. The food is always delicious! My husband ordered Daily Roast which happen to be the Filet Mignon. It was wrapped in Pancetta and served with Caramelized Onions.

I ordered the Pan-Seared Day Boat Scallops with fennel, pea leaves, asian pear, vanilla bean froth. Cooked to perfection and wonderful with the vanilla flavors.

Dessert was One Market’s Fruit Sorbets made
fresh daily in the resturant. On this day it was raspberry, apple and pear sorbets with plump blackberries and poached pears and served with almond tuile.IMG_0834

Je Ne Sais Quoise Cake at Citizen Cake, San Francisco, CA

How can anyone pick just one of Elizabeth Faulker’s wonderful dessert creations? At Citizen Cake you are faced with a vast case of amazing desserts. But, I managed to do it. I picked this wonderful cake; a vanilla-soaked chiffon cake with crisp vanilla bean tubes of meringue, salted caramel and vanilla buttercream. Just amazing!

Update: Sadly, Citizen Cake is now closed. Elizabeth Faulkner is now in the Brooklyn where she is the chef and pastry maker at Krescendo.

Cream of Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese at Citizen Cake, San Francisco, CA

Ok so you are saying what is so great about this meal? Elizabeth Faulkner’s twist makes it extra special. Besides being total comfort food on a chilly San Francisco night, the tomato soup was creamy and rich and topped with garlic croutons and basil olive oil. The grilled cheese was a blend gooey cheese but then the outside had that extra surprise of melted crispy cheese all over which is such a great idea that I can’t wait to try!
