I like Curious Grape. It is a great neighborhood place in the Village of Shirlington that has a devoted foodie following. This is a place where you come to relax and not be rushed through your meal. It is a place to enjoy the company you are with, the food and have a nice glass of wine. On New Years Eve and Valentine’s Day, they have tasting menus with several courses and wine parings for each course. On one of those occasions, my dessert was a Passion Fruit Creme Brûlée. It was amazing. It was creamy, citrusy and tangy. What I liked most about this dessert was the caramelized top which was passionfruit. It was paired with a candied ginger cookie and coconut lemongrass ice cream. It is zesty. This dessert is a seasonal item and not always on the menu. But when I see it offered, I know that is what I will be ordering for dessert.
Update: Curious Grape has closed its doors. Very sad. It was a great neighborhood place that had great wines and exceptional food.
I was there yesterday but didn’t know they had such a great dessert!
Besides being a great wine bar, they have some amazing dishes. It is a great neighborhood gem in Arlington.
